Didn’t see anything in the sidebar about asking questions so apologies if this doesn’t belong here.
I want to design and build a hangboard stand [like this](https://www.reddit.com/r/climbing/comments/8myb0k/stage_1_of_my_freestanding_hangboard_is_up/) but i want to have the board stick out away from the posts and give it a triangular base so it can slide into a corner. I’m worried about the added instability and torque on the wood so I was wondering if there’s any 3D modeling software out there that will let me design what I want, specify that the material is wooden 2x4s, and then maybe hang pendulums of varying weight from the board to see how much force it takes to cause a failure and how much of a swing it would take to cause it to tip over.
Also, I would greatly appreciate any resources to learn about the sheer forces of 2x4s, the load they can take, and anything else physics/engineering related that might help me during the design phase. I have an idea of what I want but I don’t know how realistic it would be to build.
